Nadine Brandes has an awesome Bookstagram account! Check it out and give her a follow and support her first novel Fawkes!

Okay, so technically those are all the books I’m super excited for that release this year BUT I do have two books I wanted to add to my list that I didn’t. These two books are parts of series that I haven’t finished yet and therefore felt like I couldn’t really add it to my most anticipated. The two books are:

I haven’t read Traitor to the Throne or A Torch Against the Night (the second books in these series respectively) so I didn’t want to add these ones until I catch up! Even though I KNOW I’m going to absolutely love them!

PHEW.gif That was A LOT of books! I hope you enjoyed my list of my most anticipated releases of early 2018 and I’d love to know yours! Leave a comment and let’s have a discussion! As always, follow me on Goodreads and Instagram to stay connected and I’ll talk to you guys next week!

Thanks for watching!

Star Wars Book Tag

Hey bookies! We’re back with yet another tag… these are so fun to do, I can’t help myself. This one is extra special because it’s STAR WARS and that is pretty much my favourite thing ♥

This tag was created by Joana and Elizabeth and I will link their videos of this tag here and here!

In honour of the recent movie addition to the Star Wars world, I have added to this tag to include the new characters and some others I like. So, let’s get started!

(All pictures are edited by me)

R2-D2 1.51.09 AM

1. The Shadowhunter’s Codex – Cassandra Clare and Joshua Lewis

Shadowhunter's Codex

Reading the notes left by the characters is hilarious, especially when it’s Simon and Jace banter.

2. Solara Brooks from Starflight – Melissa Landers

Solara is so badass! She uses her ‘master’ to find her way to the outer realm so she can make a better life for herself and let’s just say, he isn’t too happy when he finds out she tricked him.

3. Gale/Katniss/Peeta from The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Gamess

This love triangle was so pointless! I think everyone knew she was going to end up with Peeta. Was anyone even ON team Gale? Probably not after what he did in Mocking Jay.

4. Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman

LOVE THIS BOOK! The authors did an amazing job bringing these characters and this world to life using a unconventional method.

5. The House of Night – P.C. and Kristin Cast

I have read almost all of the books in this series and I can’t even explain why. It started out okay but it just kept going downhill. Sometimes, a series just needs to stop.

6. Albus Dumbledore from Harry Potter – J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter

I understand why he had to die but the way he died was so sad. To be killed by a friend is tragic and see him in your eyes as you fall from a tower is overkill.

7. Victoria Enright from The Darkest Powers – Kelley Armstrong

Darkest Powers.png

She is the sass master; girl doesn’t quit.

8. The Winner’s Curse – Marie Rutkoski

The Winner's Curse.jpg

The politics in this world is so well thought out and the story behind it is so well written.

9. Alive – Scott Sigler

13. Alive

When I first got into this book I was not expecting it to be so good. I generally don’t have much luck with male young adult authors but Scott Sigler proved to be a worthy writer.

10. The Outsiders – S.E. Hinton

The Outsiders.JPG

I had to read this book in 8th grade and I am so grateful because it made me grow as a reader and as a person.

11. Sebastian Morgenstern from The Mortal Instruments – Cassandra Clare

… He is evil incarnate, and I think we are all waiting for his devil fairy child to appear.

(The next few ones are the ones I added)

Chewbacca 1.51.09 AM

12. Reagan from Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell

I loved the relationship she has with Cath because they are polar opposites and yet they still clicked.

13. Jill Dragomir from Bloodlines – Richelle Mead

Jill has a good heart but it takes her a while to understand the true meaning of her safety and in the meantime, she gets herself into situations that requires Sydney’s saving.

14. Uhm.. everyone from Salt to the Sea – Ruta Sepetys

 14. salt to the sea

They literally went through a war.

15. Jin from Rebel of the Sands – Alwyn Hamilton

We don’t know anything about Jin until the end of the book and even then, details of his past are fuzzy at best.

16. Vin from The Mistborn Trilogy – Brandon Sanderson

Vin was always taught that the nobility are bad people who exploit others, but when she is forced to work undercover right under their noses, she begins to question whether or not they are all bad after all.

17. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – Ransom Riggs

Traveling through time is a bit of a stretch with this book because they technically just pause it, however I have not read many time travel novels so this is the closest I could get.

18. Harry Potter  from Harry Potter series – J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter

I didn’t want to repeat Harry Potter but how could I not!? I mean, poor Harry was pretty much chosen at birth to defeat Voldemort. He walked to his death to bring him down (literally walking to his death people!).

19. Juliette from Shatter Me – Tahereh Mafi

Even when she develops as a character, I still feel disconnected from her. She can KILL people with her touch, and she learns how to control it but she is so grounded by the boys in her life that I feel like she never really got the chance to fly.

20. Catching Fire from The Hunger Games series – Suzanne Collins

This book is so great! It is the best in the series and probably my favourite dystopian novel.

That’s all! Thank you so much for reading and don’t forget if you want to do this tag, let us know and give credit where credit is due.

The Hamilton Book Tag!

Hey bookies, I think everyone knows what Hamilton is by now. If not, it’s a musical written by Lin-Manuel Miranda about one of American’s founding father: Alexander Hamilton. The music is A+ and the play is very educational; since we are not American and knew nothing about this before listening to the musical. Anyways, here is our rendition of The Hamilton Book Tag!

DISCLAIMER : Contains Spoilers for the Harry Potter Series and the Hunger Games Series

The Room Where It Happens
A book world you would put yourself into

Bia:TheRavenCycle.pngWouldn’t it be so cool to live in this world? The characters are all so great and unique that I would love to be friends with them. Also, the magic and eeriness of this world is fascinating!

Who wouldn’t want to be a witch or wizard studying at the infamous Hogwarts? I would just like to ride Buckbeak around all day, study with Dumbledore and read all the books in the Library!

The Schuyler Sisters
An Underrated Female Character

Bia:The Testing

More people have to read this book! It is so good and Cia Vale is a really smart, determined main character that deserves more credit.

The Gathering.jpg

I think people just need to pick up a Kelley Armstrong book ASAP, because her characters are so diverse and so easy to adore! The Gathering is set in the same world as The Darkest Powers and each character gives an important essence to the story, plus Maya Delaney is just a character you’ll automatically love. She’s badass, intuitive and spoiler she’s a freakin’ shapeshifter!

My Shot
A Character that goes after what they want and doesn’t let anything stop them

Moira is so badass and she does not let anything get in the way of doing what’s right or protecting her sister and even if you can’t relate to her stubbornness and/or brashness, you will definitely admire her loyalty.

Throne of galss.jpg

There’s too much I can say that’ll definitely express how badass Celaena is in the Throne of Glass Series. She always strives to protect the ones she loves and doesn’t let anyone or anything get in the way of her mission. She’s witty and cunning and handles a sword better than any assassin I’ve read about. She to a “T” the sassiest, strongest and loyal character I’ve ever read.

The most heartbreaking end to a relationship you’ve ever read

Bia:A Walk to Remember

Nicholas Sparks… WHY?! I cried forever after this… No Spoilers but… I mean, if you know Sparks than you probably have an idea.

Nothing in this world can express how saddened, broken and defeated I felt when these two went their separate ways. I don’t care if this is the hugest spoiler to ever happen but really, Rowling? I was an absolute wreck after reading this scene.

You’ll Be Back
The Sassiest Villain

The Hunger GamessPresident Snow

You may not be thinking about President Snow as sassy… but damn, he is. He put everyone back in the Hunger Games JUST CAUSE. He LAUGHED when Katniss shot Coin. I mean thats’s pretty sassy.

Cass:The Lunar Chronicles Queen levana.jpg

Queen Levana…. Need I say more? Whether you have a murderous bone in your body, you will wish this character death and her sassy mouth doesn’t help much either.

The Reynolds Pamphlet
A book with a twist you didn’t see coming

I’ll be honest, I did not see that coming. I had a feeling someone would… but not her. Veronica Roth got spunk, I’ll give her that.

Lady MIdnight.jpg

SPOILERS SPOILERS SO MUCH SPOILERS!!!! If you’ve read LM by Cass Clare you’ll know what I’m talking about but forreals?! Those last 10 pages… grr.

A book series you marathoned

Love these books! Each one is unique and super cute. I read Anna in one sitting and picked up the other two right away!

How quickly I binged this series, I was a bit hesitation going into this series but boy was I wrong! Read all four books in the series as well as the prequel/ collection of short stories in a week’s time.

A book with multiple point of views

Bia:14. salt to the sea

I’ll just keep mentioning this book until everyone in the world has read it…

Throne of GlaSSS.jpg

The multiple POV’s of this series really makes you attach yourself to each and every one of the characters. Sarah J Maas kicks ass at kicking ass!

Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story
A book/series you believe will be remembered throughout history

Whether you were the person who:

  1. Hated the series but never read it
  2. Loved the series but never read it
  3. Hated the series and have read it
  4. Loved the series and have read it
  5. Hated the series but secretly loved it
  6. Or Loved the series but secretly hated it

You have to admit that EVERYONE knows about Twilight. It’s what started Young Adult for a lot of readers today.

Lord of the rings.jpg

I’m a tad biased with this choice, mostly because this series changed my life and really got me hooked on the high fantasy lifestyle. Whether you watched the films, read the series or just wish deep down you were a hobbit you have heard of Lord of the Rings. It will forever be the high fantasy that brought together a multi million franchise, and it will follow me till the end of time.

Stay Alive
A character you wish you could bring back to life

Bia+Cass:Harry Potter

I feel like I need to create a list for… well okay, here we go:

  1. Sirius Black
  2. Severus Snape
  3. Hedwig (I mean really Rowling!?)
  4. Dobby
  5. Fred Weasley
  6. Albus Dumbledore
  7. Cedric Diggory
  8. Alastor Moody
