May the 4th be with you (Star Wars day)

Hey everyone! It’s May the 4th! In case you don’t know, Star Wars is my absolute favourite fandom out there! So, what better time to discuss my love for Star Wars than on May 4th!?

So, you know those Buzzfeed type quizzes online where you answer a bunch of multiple choice questions to discover which character you’re most like in a series?? Well, I decided to take some of those quizzes and share my results with you! Let’s get started!

Quiz 1. What is your Star Wars personality? HERE

Result: the inventor.jpg Yeah, I think this is the perfect answer for me. Plus, R2-D2 is my favourite SW character so bonus!!

Score so far: 100 %

Quiz 2. Which SW: The Last Jedi quote should be your comeback? HERE

Result:

“Impressive – every word in that sentence was wrong.” – Luke Skywalker

Like Luke Skywalker, you tell it like it is and like to stick to the facts. You don’t get caught up in niceties and have no trouble dishing out sarcasm when needed. You would make a great teacher if you aren’t already, as long as you keep the patience of a Jedi.

Hmm… This is also pretty accurate. This is one of my favourite quotes from the movie and I find it so funny. Well done quiz,

Score so far: 100%

Quiz 3. Which SW character are you? Pt. 1 HERE

Result:

You’re Han Solo

You matched with Han Solo because you value independence, stimulation and pleasure
Uhm… I really don’t think I’m like Hans Solo at all so I’m going to say that the quiz got it wrong this time.
Score so far: 66%

Quiz 4. Which SW: The Last Jedi character are you? Pt. 2 HERE

Result:

You’re General Leia Organa!

Fierce, strong, and always determined to fight your own battles, like General Organa you’re a fantastic leader and someone that you’re whole squad can look up to. You have no trouble stepping up and making quick decisions, especially when it comes to a cause you care about. Congratulations — you’re the princess-turned-general Leia Organa!

Yes, I definitely see this more than Hans Solo.

Score so far: 75%

That’s all I’m going to do for now. This was actually lots of fun! I could get lost in the world of online quizzes if I wanted to. I’d love to know what your results are and if you agree with the ones the quizzes give you! Let mw know down below.

Until next time,

Sincerely,

B ❤

Book Playlist

Hey bookies! Hope you’re having an awesome week so far. This week I’ve compiled a little playlist for you. I pulled out ten of my favourite series and found a song that reminded me of that book/series or gives me the same feeling the book did. I tried to keep the music varied in styles and genre so hopefully, there is something for everyone to like.

Let’s get started!

1. Falling Kingdoms Series – Morgan Rhodes

falling kingdoms series.jpg

🎵 Warriors – Greg Hulme

This song is action-packed and badass, much like the series itself. It always keeps you on your toes with the different tempos and I feel it accurately represents the feeling I got when I read Falling Kingdoms for the first time; you never know if someone is going to die in the next scene.

2. The Infernal Devices Trilogy – Cassandra Clare

infernal devices.jpg

🎵 Shatter Me – Lindsey Sterling & Lzzy Hale

I tried to find a song that had an intense yet soothing kind of sound. I realized that Lindsey Sterling’s style with a classical instrument was perfect for this. Lzzy Hale’s vocals added just the right amount of edginess that reminded me of the Infernal Devices and steampunk type of style.

3. The Lunar Chronicles – Merissa Meyer

LUNAR

🎵 Kara Remembers – Bear McCreary

This song gives off the perfect amount of danger meets space vibes. It really portrays the life or death situations that Cinder and her friends get themselves into. Originally I was trying to find a Star Wars meets Cinderella song but then a friend made me realize that this song would be perfect! Battlestar Galactica fans approve I’m sure.

4. The Darkest Powers Trilogy – Kelley Armstrong

darkest powers

🎵 Find Me – Sigma ft. Birdy

I love this song! When I heard it for the first time I was totally enthralled and it gave me such Kelley Armstrong feels! It is quick paced with lots of emotions. This series is fun and engaging even though it handles rather dark and potentially scary themes, it doesn’t come across that way at all which I love.

5. Geekerella – Ashley Poston

Geekerella

🎵 Arms – Christina Perri

This song is super catchy and it’s got this feeling that I can’t really explain other than melancholy? It is definite Geekerella vibes, plus its a love song. It’s both upbeat yet sad at the same time which reminds me of the main character here.

6. Harry Potter Series – J.K. Rowling

harry potter

🎵 Audiomachine – Fate’s Compass

This song is perfect for Harry Potter! I can imagine hearing it as he’s exploring Hogwarts or running in the Forbidden Forest. it has the little twinkling sounds that are very reminiscent of the movie soundtracks, however, it is also very intense and screams FANTASY.

7. Illuminae Trilogy – Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman

Illuminae-files.jpg

🎵 Dark Skies – Robert Slump

This song is so intense and it is filled with cool sounds that seem perfect for a space-themed book. the build-up is awesome and suspenseful much like this series. [Spoilers] I can imagine this paying as our favourite characters try to escape from the zombie-like illness that plagues the first book.

8. Six of Crows Duology – Leigh Bardugo

six of crows

🎵 Youth – Daughter

This song reminded me so much of the minds of the heist crew in Six of Crows. It almost felt like the song of their souls. It has so much power but it has a range of tempos that can also represent the range of emotions I felt while reading this series. It especially reminded me of the relationship between Matthias and Nina; the up and down they have yet they’re unwavering loyalty to each other.

9. Salt to the Sea – Ruta Sepetys

salt to the sea.jpg

🎵 Ashes of Eden – Breaking Benjamin

This book broke my heart. I couldn’t believe that people had to suffer through something so terrible, and worse is that most people don’t even know that it happened. When I read this for the first time I was filled with such grief that I couldn’t stop crying. when I first heard this song I was on my way home from and this song came on through my car speakers and suddenly without reason I found myself crying. It reminded me so much of Salt to the Sea that I couldn’t NOT pick this one.

10. The Raven Cycle Quartet – Maggie Stiefvater The-Raven-Cycle-Series.png

🎵 Uninvited – Alanis Morissette

Maggie Stiefvater has a weird atmospheric feeling to all her books that it really hard for me to relate to music, however, I think Morissette’s eerie vibe from this song can fit that feeling I got when I read The Raven Cycle. It’s definitely there.

There you have it guys! I hope you enjoyed my little book playlist that I made. I’ll admit that it was quite difficult and all together probably took me 4 hours to do. Until next week!

Sincerely,

B ❤

My Fictional Bucket List

Hey Bookies! Don’t you ever wish you could meet your favourite fictional characters in real life? Not only meet them but actually get to hang out with them!? Well, me too. So today I would like to share my fictional bucket list with you guys; just some activities I wish I could do with some of my favourite characters from YA literature. Let’s get started! >>>>>

(These are not in any particular order)

Create a book club with Hermione Granger, Tessa Gray and Becca Hatcher

Wouldn’t these be the best book club ever? I mean I can’t wait to discuss!

Go to Comic-Con with Simon Lewis and Ella Wittimer

These two together. I’m a big nerd but I don’t think even I could keep up with them! It would be so much fun though!

Flying around with Jace Herondale (on a vampire motorcycle) and Superman/Clark Kent

Wow… I can’t even imagine how thrilling this would be (insert heart eyes emoji here). Can this be real!?

A Classical Concert with Jem Carstairs

Jem carstairs.jpg

The Infernal Devices is my favourite series and Jem Carstairs is my favourite character in the series. Therefore, it is only fitting that on my fictional bucket list, we get to hang out alone… I think that’s fair xD I think a nice classical concert or opera type thing would be right up his style. Maybe we’d even crash it and Jem could perform for ME ❤

Pod Racing with R2-D2, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Poe Dameron

r2d2  obiwan kenobi  poe dameron

Although it is pretty obvious that Poe would win… I mean he is the “best damn pilot the resistance has ever seen” but it would still be awesome to fly around on pod racers right!??

Study magic with Magnus Bane, Sirius Black and Nina Zenik

Screen Shot 2018-02-21 at 2.04.16 PM.png

PLEASE CHECK OUT MERWILD ON REDBUBBLE. SHE IS THE ARTIST BEHIND THIS BEAUTIFUL EDITION OF NINA ZENIK. She has so much more amazing pieces. Check her out HERE.
If I took pointers from these amazing magic users I think I could be the greatest of all time. Don’t you think?

Hack into some top secret files with Kady Grant and Linh Cinder

cinder  Illuminae

With Cinder’s robotic enhancements and Kady’s brains, we could probably get ourselves into a lot of trouble! This would be some serious girl power besides, they would have a lot of experience running away from any government officials… right?

Doing any of these activities would be awesome! I would love to know if you guys have anything on your fictional bucket list. Even if it’s just going out for coffee with someone, I’d love to know!

Thanks for reading as always and I’ll be back next Thursday!!

Sincerely,

B ❤

Star Wars Book Tag

Hey bookies! We’re back with yet another tag… these are so fun to do, I can’t help myself. This one is extra special because it’s STAR WARS and that is pretty much my favourite thing ♥

This tag was created by Joana and Elizabeth and I will link their videos of this tag here and here!

In honour of the recent movie addition to the Star Wars world, I have added to this tag to include the new characters and some others I like. So, let’s get started!

(All pictures are edited by me)

R2-D2 1.51.09 AM

1. The Shadowhunter’s Codex – Cassandra Clare and Joshua Lewis

Shadowhunter's Codex

Reading the notes left by the characters is hilarious, especially when it’s Simon and Jace banter.

PadméAmidala

2. Solara Brooks from Starflight – Melissa Landers

Starflight

Solara is so badass! She uses her ‘master’ to find her way to the outer realm so she can make a better life for herself and let’s just say, he isn’t too happy when he finds out she tricked him.

PrincessLeiaOrgana

3. Gale/Katniss/Peeta from The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Gamess

This love triangle was so pointless! I think everyone knew she was going to end up with Peeta. Was anyone even ON team Gale? Probably not after what he did in Mocking Jay.

LukeSkywalker

4. Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman

Illuminae

LOVE THIS BOOK! The authors did an amazing job bringing these characters and this world to life using a unconventional method.

AnakinSkywalker

5. The House of Night – P.C. and Kristin Cast

HOUSE OF NIGHT

I have read almost all of the books in this series and I can’t even explain why. It started out okay but it just kept going downhill. Sometimes, a series just needs to stop.

Qui-GonJinn

6. Albus Dumbledore from Harry Potter – J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter

I understand why he had to die but the way he died was so sad. To be killed by a friend is tragic and see him in your eyes as you fall from a tower is overkill.

HanSolo

7. Victoria Enright from The Darkest Powers – Kelley Armstrong

Darkest Powers.png

She is the sass master; girl doesn’t quit.

EmperorPalpatine

8. The Winner’s Curse – Marie Rutkoski

The Winner's Curse.jpg

The politics in this world is so well thought out and the story behind it is so well written.

Obi-WanKenobi

9. Alive – Scott Sigler

13. Alive

When I first got into this book I was not expecting it to be so good. I generally don’t have much luck with male young adult authors but Scott Sigler proved to be a worthy writer.

MasterYoda

10. The Outsiders – S.E. Hinton

The Outsiders.JPG

I had to read this book in 8th grade and I am so grateful because it made me grow as a reader and as a person.

DarthVader

11. Sebastian Morgenstern from The Mortal Instruments – Cassandra Clare

immortalinstruments6books

… He is evil incarnate, and I think we are all waiting for his devil fairy child to appear.

(The next few ones are the ones I added)

Chewbacca 1.51.09 AM

12. Reagan from Fangirl – Rainbow Rowell

Fangirl.jpg

I loved the relationship she has with Cath because they are polar opposites and yet they still clicked.

c3po

13. Jill Dragomir from Bloodlines – Richelle Mead

Bloodlines.png

Jill has a good heart but it takes her a while to understand the true meaning of her safety and in the meantime, she gets herself into situations that requires Sydney’s saving.

bobafett

14. Uhm.. everyone from Salt to the Sea – Ruta Sepetys

 14. salt to the sea

They literally went through a war.

Rey

15. Jin from Rebel of the Sands – Alwyn Hamilton

 24934065

We don’t know anything about Jin until the end of the book and even then, details of his past are fuzzy at best.

finn

16. Vin from The Mistborn Trilogy – Brandon Sanderson

sanderson-mistborntrilogyuk4

Vin was always taught that the nobility are bad people who exploit others, but when she is forced to work undercover right under their noses, she begins to question whether or not they are all bad after all.

PoeDameron

17. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – Ransom Riggs

missperegrine

Traveling through time is a bit of a stretch with this book because they technically just pause it, however I have not read many time travel novels so this is the closest I could get.

kyloren

18. Harry Potter  from Harry Potter series – J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter

I didn’t want to repeat Harry Potter but how could I not!? I mean, poor Harry was pretty much chosen at birth to defeat Voldemort. He walked to his death to bring him down (literally walking to his death people!).

MazKanata

19. Juliette from Shatter Me – Tahereh Mafi

tumblr_mlxfqiUsBa1s8o5wlo1_500

Even when she develops as a character, I still feel disconnected from her. She can KILL people with her touch, and she learns how to control it but she is so grounded by the boys in her life that I feel like she never really got the chance to fly.

BB-8

20. Catching Fire from The Hunger Games series – Suzanne Collins

Catching_Fire

This book is so great! It is the best in the series and probably my favourite dystopian novel.

That’s all! Thank you so much for reading and don’t forget if you want to do this tag, let us know and give credit where credit is due.

Sincerely,

B ❤

P.S. DON’T FORGET TOMORROW IS STAR WARS DAY! MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU.
